Environmental Policy - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Compatibility are committed to ensuring that every aspect of our activities are conducted in the most environmentally sensitive way. We strive to adhere to all official guidance as well as all moral and ethical environmental standards.
Transportation
- Minimise unnecessary travel where possible.
- Utilise our information technology to communicate or assist our customers remotely.
Stationery & Office Supplies
- We reduce the need for stationery by reducing unnecessary demand.
- We re-use stationery, such as folders and files, wherever possible.
- Old files and papers are recycled, using the local council’s (Wealden) recycling scheme
- Office produce such as junk mail, newspapers, food containers (tins and bottles) are all recycled.
Supply Source
- Where possible we source supplies from environmentally friendly countries and try to avoid the world’s worst polluters. We understand that whatever we as a Company do in our lifetime, can and will be undone, by the worst polluters, in one day.
Waste Packaging
- All packaging is broken down and recycled wherever possible, using a mixture of private and council schemes.
Old Computer Equipment
- Computer equipment, such as PCs or monitors comply with the following order of events:
- Firstly re-used wherever possible.
- Then broken down for usable parts; those parts then being re-used
- Broken or faulty equipment is then made safe in accordance with current regulations
- Any residual parts then recycled (such as glass from monitors) using approved council schemes.
Environmental Disposal
- We are committed to minimising the consumption of natural resources and energy, whilst consuming material goods in moderation. However, there will always be the need for disposal of some kind. We are committed to environmental disposal wherever and whenever possible.
- Landfill is not a sustainable solution, we will always seek incineration (advanced gasification and plasma arc) wherever possible.
