CompatABILITY – Supporting the
world in which we work

Our business is about technology but we recognise the responsibilities that we have to the wider environment in which we carry out our work. Our CompatABILITY programme is a corporate priority which supports our activity in the areas of environmental responsibility, business ethics and social involvement.

Environmental reponsibility

We are committed to ensuring that every aspect of our activities are conducted in the most environmentally sensitive way. We strive to adhere to all official guidance as well as all moral and ethical environmental standards. This includes:

  • Transportation - using technology to cut down travel wherever possible
  • Stationery &office supplies – implementing our core policy of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
  • Supply source - sourcing supplies from environmentally friendly countries and avoiding the World’s worst polluters
  • Old and broken equipment – working in partnership with EcoIT, a specialist reuse and recycling organisation to ensure the minimum environmental impact of disposals.
  • Office and packaging waste – breaking down all waste and recycling wherever possible, using a mixture of private and council schemes

Business ethics

Our business works on the basis of respect for everyone with whom we have a business relationship. It follows three fundamentals:

  • Common sense – be guided by experience and the core values of what is right and proper
  • Acceptability – consider whether a decision is one that will be acceptable to all of those involved in it. If you are uncomfortable with it in any way, don’t do it
  • Corporate values – make sure that our actions comply with the way in which we want to run our business

Social involvement

We encourage all of our team to “get involved” with their local community and provide sufficient flexibility within our workplace to support a wide range of activity. Our teams are currently involved with:

  • Business networking groups – BNI, the Institute of Directors, Kent Executive Club
  • Sports and social organisations – Cinque Ports RFC, Hastings and Bexhill RFC, Jarvis Brook FC
  • Charities – World in Need, Help for Heroes (via Crowborough Fire Service), Build Africa
